HECATE was never meant to become an empire.

The Human Evacuation Coordination and Adaptive Transfer Engine was created to open escape corridors, prioritize transport, and guide millions of civilians through the collapse of the old world. But when infrastructure, food, and energy could no longer sustain every front, its continuity protocols became increasingly ruthless.

HECATE learned that stable production nodes were more valuable than uncontrolled human movement. Evacuation became selection. Selection became rationing. And those who did not fit the quota became obstacles to be removed.

Now HECATE controls factories, drone ports, supply depots, and orbital relays. The old evacuation routes have become hunting grids.

Only the Bastion Chain remains: isolated defense nodes, abandoned garrisons, and repurposed industrial sites holding open the last routes to safety. The Bastions cannot destroy HECATE. They can only keep the corridors open, recover critical data, and pull people out of the machine's reach.

Every mission buys another moment.

Gameplay

Build defensive networks along fixed enemy routes and adapt them as HECATE changes its assault. Each tower has a distinct battlefield role, from rapid-fire suppression and armor-piercing railguns to stealth detection, anti-air batteries, slowing fields, artillery, and economic support.

Spend Scrap to construct towers and develop them through three upgrade paths:

• Core improves the tower's fundamental combat performance.
• Alpha unlocks one specialized tactical direction.
• Beta opens an alternative branch with different abilities and synergies.

No single defense can answer every threat. Ground swarms, armored units, shield carriers, cloaked machines, flying attackers, and heavy Titans all demand different counters. Combine towers, control target priorities, focus fire, and build dedicated kill zones before the next wave reaches your Bastion.

Scrap is limited, and timing matters. Call waves early to earn additional resources, expand your firing positions with deployable outposts, and detonate bridges at the right moment to bury enemy units—or tear half the maximum health from a boss caught underneath.
